Further action on justice reform launched
VANCOUVER – The Province is launching a reform initiative to address B.C.’s justice system and identify actions that government, the judiciary, the legal profession, police and others can take to give British Columbians more timely and effective justice services, Premier Christy Clark announced.
Meadow Creek Cedar’s forest licence suspended
NELSON – The Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations has suspended Meadow Creek Cedar’s forest licence and fined the Kootenay-based company $42,000 for failing to meet its legal obligations to reforest logged areas.
Final phase of wall repairs underway this week
WEST KELOWNA – Work will begin this week on the final phase of repairs to the Westside Road Interchange retaining walls.

KELOWNA – CWMM Consulting Engineers Ltd. took the top award for design and contract preparation of structures at the 8th annual Deputy Minister’s Consulting Engineers Awards, for its work on the Akokli Bridge Replacement project.

VICTORIA – Government has appointed nine new Provincial Court judges in regions around the province.
Funding rolls out to help rural emergency care access
WILLIAMS LAKE – To date, families in 36 rural communities across British Columbia will benefit from increased funding to strengthen public access to emergency services. A total of 52 communities are eligible.
Fifty-two communities receive Age-friendly BC grants
MAPLE RIDGE – Seniors in every region of B.C. will benefit as 52 local governments receive age-friendly grants to support older residents in staying healthy and active in the community.
